LIVING
LAB

Living Lab could be the most appropriate term to define our climate resilience learning journey at SEP Academy. It represents not only the process we have undergone but also the outcomes we have achieved. It marks the conclusion of our efforts, capturing both learning and tangible impact.

Living Lab is our pioneering holistic model that integrates soil and water conservation, community-based disaster preparedness, and social enterprises to address the impacts of global warming. This initiative is designed to be more than just a project; it serves as a blueprint for change, empowering communities to thrive in the face of climate challenges.

Today, several Living Labs across Thailand reflect our ongoing efforts. SEP Academy began by working closely with our extended network—a family of like-minded organizations—to introduce agro-nature practices, restoring soils damaged by mono-cropping while improving livelihoods and strengthening the local economy. While our early Living Labs were mostly in farming communities, we’re now expanding into urban areas to address challenges like urbanization and aging populations. On this site, you can explore some of the places where our work continues to grow.

Our Approach

At SEP Academy, we believe learning must go beyond the classroom. Our approach is rooted in real-life practice, local wisdom, and collaboration across cultures. By connecting learners with communities, we create spaces where knowledge is not only taught but lived. This way, education becomes a shared journey that strengthens both individuals and societies.

Our work stands on four key pillars:

  • Experiential & Problem-Based Learning – Hands-on programs that invite learners to tackle real challenges, turning theory into practice.

  • Community-Driven Practices – Learning with communities, not just about them, ensuring that local voices lead the process.

  • Intercultural Exchange – Bringing together diverse perspectives to foster mutual understanding and global solidarity.

  • Sufficiency Economy Philosophy – Grounding our practices in resilience, moderation, and balance, inspired by Thailand’s unique contribution to sustainable living.
